About Flavors on Fire

Teaching people how to make great food using open fire cooking techniques is our passion. After two years of in-home and virtual food experiences, we are excited to open up our brick and mortar cooking studio in Old Katy.

Flavors on Fire will host hands-on cooking classes as well as private parties, dinners and date nights for groups up to 15 guests. All of our food experiences will feature open-fire cooking techniques on our two XL Big Green Eggs, from the comfort of our climate controlled studio.

Our 5 year mission is to become the premier cooking studio in Houston, by offering our guests unique and memorable food experiences. We want to expose guests to new flavors, cooking techniques and food cultures.

Job Description

We are looking to add a Host / Server / Busser our team to teach Cooking Class and host Private Dinners. Teaching people how to cook over a charcoal fire should get your heart pumping!

Most of our classes and private events consist of several hors d’oeuvres, an appetizer, main course with sides and a dessert for a 15 person group. As the Cooking Studio Chef, you will be the center of attention during these events. We expect you to be comfortable with cooking and entertaining at the same time.

A typical food experience includes the following activities and responsibilities for you:

Prep – approximately 1.5 hours before the start of our events, work with our team to get the dining room set up (set plates, silverware, napkins) and restroom and handwash stations replenished (paper towels, a quick clean)

Host / Serve / Buss – welcome our guests to Flavors on Fire and get them seated. Serve water and take wine and beer orders. Hand out food as we prepare items, and help with taking away dirty dishes - placing them in the prep-kitchen / dishwashing area.

Clean Up – clean up the front of the house (clean the bar, sweep the floor where guests were present, make a run through the bathroom to clean out trash cans).

The team during any given food experience consists of four people: the chef, a sous-chef, a dishwasher and a host / server (you). Lastly, you will work closely with Tim, the owner of Flavors on Fire, throughout the purchase and teach/host parts of the food experiences.
